Senior Thesis

For my senior thesis I played with line, exploring its potential to both represent and abstract reality. I worked with bold color with the intention of creating overwhelmingly immersive pieces. I focused almost exclusively on the form of the cow, an animal I believe to represent the feminine entity. In our society, the parallels between cows and femininity are well engrained: both are objectified, both are used as a means within the cycle of consumerism.

But there are also uplifting similarities. Cows demonstrate the power of the herd, and how standing together can provide safety and support. I am drawn to their inquisitive, gentle and powerful nature. I see them as a mirror for what the feminine entity is and can be.
